Epoxy
powder coating
has long been recognized as a reliable means of electrical insulation in the
manufacture of motors, generators, servo systems, and power supply components.
Powder coating resins provide:
Excellent electrical properties
Excellent thermal and mechanical shock resistance
Low cost
Excellent chemical and moisture resistance
The
powder is applied using the fluidized bed process, or "fluidizing".
The process for applying epoxy powder is: clean, mask, preheat, coat, and
cure. The cleaning and preparation process is critical and therefore controlled
to provide superior adhesion to reduce chipping and peeling of the applied
coating. Every part is then dielectric checked for proper insulation.
PLE
uses 3M 5230N powder, however, other epoxy powders can be ordered
to meet customer requirements. |
